Day 24 brought us an extensive look into occult-themed horror films with Sinister Rituals. Today, Day 25 of 31 Days of Horror Movie Challenge: Hitchcockian Thrills, we look at Alfred Hitchcock, the master of suspense, focusing on two of his iconic films, Psycho (1960) and The Birds (1963). Regarded as an untouchable classic, Psycho revolutionized the horror genre, giving the term Hitchcockian suspense. Hitchcock’s mastery of suspense shines in The Birds. The unpredictable nature of the bird attacks creates a constant sense of unease, and the lack of a clear motive for their aggression adds to the mystery and horror. Both films continue to captivate and terrify audiences, proving the timelessness of Hitchcock’s genius in manipulating suspense and sound to create horror experiences.
